ADHD Therapy & Support

ADHD shapes more than attention. It shapes how you experience time, manage energy, organize tasks, regulate emotions, and see yourself. Whether you've recently been diagnosed, are exploring whether ADHD might explain what you've been navigating, or have lived with the diagnosis for years, therapy can help you build a way of living that works with how your brain is actually wired.

I work with adults across all the places ADHD touches: work, study, relationships, parenting and the deeper stuff like guilt/shame, self-doubt, and beliefs about what being ADHD means to you.

What I help with

  • Adjusting to a new ADHD diagnosis in adulthood
  • Building executive function strategies that fit your life
  • Emotional regulation, rejection sensitivity, and overwhelm
  • Burnout, decision fatigue, and the cycle of starting over
  • Navigating ADHD in relationships and parenting
  • Untangling shame and self-criticism that has built up over years

How I work in this space

I work alongside your brain rather than against it. We combine practical strategies with work that gets at the deeper emotional layers because a new colour-coded planner doesn't erase the feeling that you're failing because you need to do things differently.

In sessions, we explore all the places ADHD touches. The focus is not just on changing your inner world but making changes to your environment that support you. Brains with ADHD can thrive in the right places. Understanding and self-compassion are a foundation for the work we will do together.

Sessions are flexible. We can switch between practical problem-solving and deeper reflective work as the moment calls for. Available in-person in Kelowna or securely online for clients anywhere in British Columbia. Many ADHD clients find online sessions especially workable.

AuDHD: ADHD + autism together

Many autistic people also experience ADHD, sometimes called AuDHD. The two ways of processing can pull against each other and compound each other (heightened sensitivity from both, doubled burnout, doubled exhaustion). I bring both research and lived experience of navigating late-discovered AuDHD life into my practice.

Common questions

A few things people often ask when considering ADHD therapy.

Do I need a formal ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy. Many people first explore whether ADHD/autism might be part of their experience in therapy, then we can talk about whether and where to pursue formal assessment if it serves you.

Can therapy help if I'm already on ADHD medication?

Yes. Therapy and medication work on different pieces. Medication can shift the underlying neurochemistry; therapy works on behavioural strategies, the emotional weight, and the patterns that have built up over years.

Is this ADHD coaching, or therapy?

Therapy. Coaching tends to focus on goal-setting and accountability; therapy goes deeper into the emotional and identity layers like shame, rejection sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, sensory sensitivities, and more. The work is practical when that's what's needed and reflective when that's what fits.

Do you conduct ADHD assessments?

I don't conduct formal psycho-educational assessments. If a diagnostic assessment would be helpful, I can point you toward assessors in BC who do this work and we can fold their findings into therapy.

I think I might have ADHD but never talked to anyone about it. Is therapy a place to figure that out?

Yes. Many adults start to recognize their own ADHD and/or autism later in life, sometimes after years of masking and not even realizing it, after a child is diagnosed, or when hormones start to shift (for example, pregnancy/postpartum/perimenopause). Therapy is a fitting place to explore the pattern, name it, and decide whether to seek formal assessment.
